"Fine Handcrafted Wines" is not just a phrase - here, we're proud to make wines "from the ground up." We grow our own grapes and we harvest, crush, ferment, press, age and bottle all right here at our winery, and all by hand. We only produce red wines, as we are focused on a delicious, robust, fruit-forward wine. Our annual production of 400 cases is divided among the several varieties we make – sometimes there is only a single barrel of a particular wine produced in a year. Rock Creek Vineyard wines promise a softness on the palate that belies the richness of the mature fruit. Our wines are delicious upon release, but age even better... as they mature our customers come back again and again and savor our wonderful artisan vintages.
Rock Creek Vineyard has been making wines since 2005. Our first public release was 2007 and we are now beginning to bottle the 2010 vintage, which will be available for release in January of 2012.

Tom, our winemaker, approached the 2009 Zinfandel vintage year differently. Our goal was to produce a very fruity, smooth Zin that is just as delicious sipping before dinner as it is with our traditional Italian foods... pasta, pizza, bbq and family-friendly meals. By picking the grapes at a slightly lower brix (24.5), it delivered... we found the perfect, drinkable, delicious blend. Lower alcohol. Smooth. Carolyn's favorite. |
Our love of Italian wines brought about this, our version of a "Super Tuscan" wine. We blended our delicious Sangiovese with our very limited Estate Cabernet Sauvignon to produce a truly memorable wine. This wine aged for two years in the barrel before release. It won a silver medal in the Chronicle competition... but, from all our fans, we think it's truly gold! |

Ever since we won the gold medal for our 2007 Sangiovese, we sell out almost instantly. It won one of three medals given for Sangiovese in the prestigious Chronicle Wine competition. We think it is outstanding, as it comes from the most rocky part of our estate, where the vines struggle and the sun warms them all afternoon. This perfect combination produces a deep red wine, with delicious fruit and a hint of caramel. There is a reason why it sells out instantly! You may want to get on our waiting list.
